The short version
- Your photos, videos, files and the list of your apps are analyzed only on your phone. They are never uploaded to us or to anyone else.
- There is no account. We don't ask for your name, e-mail address or phone number.
- Linvy is free and shows ads. Our advertising, analytics, attribution and crash-reporting partners receive technical data such as the advertising ID, IP address, device model and in-app events. All partners are listed in section 4.
- In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland you decide on personalized ads in a consent form and can change your choice at any time in Settings → Ads & privacy → Privacy choices.
- For any privacy request, including deletion, write to {{SUPPORT_EMAIL}}.
1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how the Android application Linvy: Phone Cleaner (package name com.techsketch, the “App”) and this website handle information. The App is developed and published by {{DEVELOPER_NAME}}, {{DEVELOPER_ADDRESS}} (“we”, “us”, “our”). For the purposes of the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) we are the controller of the personal data described here, except where a third-party service acts as an independent controller (see section 4).
Contact: {{SUPPORT_EMAIL}}.
By installing or using the App you acknowledge this Policy. Where the law requires your consent (for example, for personalized advertising in the EEA and the UK), we ask for it separately inside the App.
2. Data that stays on your device
To clean your phone, the App needs to look at what is stored on it. This processing happens locally, on your device. The App has no servers of its own, and none of the content below is transmitted to us or to third parties.
| What the App reads | Why |
|---|---|
| Photos and videos (all or only those you select on Android 14+) | To find exact duplicates, similar photos, screenshots and large videos. The App computes compact “fingerprints” (checksums and perceptual hashes) of images and keeps them in a cache inside its private storage to make later scans faster. Thumbnails are shown only on screen. |
| Audio, documents and other files in shared storage | To show large files and to find junk: cache, thumbnails, temporary files, logs and crash dumps, installation files (APK) and empty folders. File names and paths are read only to display and delete the items you choose. |
| Installed apps (apps with a launcher icon), their size, cache and last-used date | For the app manager, the “unused apps” list and the app cache guide. Sizes and dates require the “Usage access” permission that you grant in Android settings. |
| Permissions granted to other apps and enabled special access (e.g. accessibility, device admin, notification access) | For the “App access” check, which explains which apps can use your location, camera, microphone, SMS and other sensitive data. |
| Device status: memory (RAM), CPU, battery level and temperature, storage space | For the device screen, the home screen, the notification-shade panel and the widget. |
| App settings and statistics: your preferences, excluded folders, how much space was freed and when (up to 100 recent records), the state of the trash | To remember your choices and to show your cleaning history. Stored in the App's private storage. |
Deleting files and the trash
The App deletes only what you confirm (or, if you explicitly turn on automatic cleaning, only safe junk such as cache, thumbnails and temporary files). Photos, videos and files removed from “Duplicates” and “Large files” go to a trash for 30 days by default. On Android 11 and later this is the system trash, shared with your gallery and file manager. On Android 8–10 the App moves such files to a hidden folder .LinvyTrash on the same storage and deletes them after 30 days. If you uninstall the App on Android 8–10 while files are in this folder, they remain on your device; you can restore or delete them with any file manager.
What we never put into analytics
Statistics that leave your device (see section 3) contain only counts, sizes and durations — for example, “scan finished: 320 MB, 12 items, 8 seconds”. They never contain file names, folder paths, images or their fingerprints, the names of your installed apps, your contacts, messages or precise location. File paths are removed from error messages that the App records about its own file operations.
Backups
App settings and service data (consent state, advertising counters, push subscriptions) are excluded from Android cloud backup and device-to-device transfer.
3. Data collected automatically
The App uses third-party software development kits (SDKs) for advertising, analytics, install attribution, crash reporting, remote configuration and push messages. When the App runs, these SDKs automatically collect the following data and send it over encrypted connections to their providers:
- Device and online identifiers: Google advertising ID (AAID/GAID), App Set ID, AppMetrica device ID, Firebase installation ID (FID), Crashlytics installation identifier and similar SDK-generated identifiers.
- IP address and approximate location derived from it (country, region, city). The App does not request GPS or other precise location, and location tracking in AppMetrica is turned off.
- Device and app information: device manufacturer and model, Android version, screen parameters, language and locale, time zone, mobile carrier, network type, App version, install source.
- App activity: screens opened, features used (for example, scan started or finished, items cleaned and their total size, settings changed, whether a permission was granted), session start and duration, notifications shown and opened. We also record a few aggregated properties, such as the level of storage access granted, whether the panel and notifications are on, and the number of cleanings as a range (e.g. “2–5”).
- Advertising data: ad requests, impressions, clicks, rewarded-video completions, and the estimated revenue of each impression.
- Install attribution: the Google Play install referrer (which store page or campaign led to the installation), install and first-launch time, and a limited set of in-app events (completed onboarding, finished scan, first and subsequent cleanings, earned rewards, ad revenue milestones).
- Diagnostics: crash reports and “App Not Responding” (ANR) reports with technical stack traces, non-fatal errors, the last in-app events and screen before a crash, the advertising provider in use, and performance data.
- Consent signals: your choices in the consent form, stored on the device in the industry-standard IAB TCF format and read by our partners.
We do not collect your name, e-mail address, phone number, contacts, messages, call logs, photos, files, browsing history, health or financial information. If you write to us (see section 16), we receive what you send: your e-mail address, your message and the technical details that the App adds to the e-mail draft (App version, device manufacturer and model, Android version), which you can review and edit before sending.
4. Third-party services
The following providers receive data from the App. Each processes it under its own privacy policy; some act as independent controllers (for example, for their own advertising or product improvement).

We do not sell personal data for money, and we do not share the contents of your device with anyone. Advertising partners may use the identifiers they collect to show you ads based on your interests in this and other apps, subject to your choices (section 6).
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of users or others, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of the App, in which case this Policy will continue to apply to the transferred data.
5. Purposes and legal bases
| Purpose | Legal basis (GDPR / UK GDPR) |
|---|---|
| Providing the App's features, remote configuration and the notifications you enabled | Performance of our agreement with you (the Terms of Use), Art. 6(1)(b); our legitimate interest in a working App, Art. 6(1)(f) |
| Showing non-personalized ads, limiting their frequency, preventing ad fraud | Legitimate interest in funding a free App, Art. 6(1)(f) |
| Personalized advertising | Your consent, Art. 6(1)(a), given in the consent form |
| Analytics (AppMetrica) and install attribution (Tenjin) | In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland — your consent to “store and/or access information on a device”: without it these SDKs do not send data. Elsewhere — legitimate interest in improving the App and measuring our marketing, Art. 6(1)(f) |
| Crash and error reports | Legitimate interest in keeping the App stable and secure, Art. 6(1)(f) |
| Answering your messages | Legitimate interest in supporting users, Art. 6(1)(f); where relevant, our agreement with you |
| Compliance with legal obligations and handling legal claims | Art. 6(1)(c) and 6(1)(f) |
Where we rely on legitimate interests, you may object at any time (see section 12). Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting earlier processing.
6. Advertising and your choices
The App is free and is funded by advertising: banners and native ads (always marked “Ad”), full-screen ads shown at natural pauses (for example, after cleaning is finished or when returning to the App), and optional rewarded videos. A rewarded video unlocks a feature for a limited time — similar-photo search for 1 hour (the first search is free), the background check for 24 hours, or a single trash action. Watching it is always your choice, and if no video is available the feature opens anyway. Ads are never shown inside notifications or on the lock screen.
- EEA, UK, Switzerland. On first launch a consent form (Google User Messaging Platform, integrated through AppLovin MAX) asks about personalized ads and the use of device storage. Change your choice at any time in Settings → Ads & privacy → Privacy choices.
- Everywhere. You can reset or delete your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalization in Android settings (usually Settings → Privacy → Ads or Settings → Google → Ads). After deletion, apps receive a string of zeros instead of the ID.
- Inside ads. Tap the AdChoices (“i”) icon on an ad to learn more and to opt out of interest-based ads from that network.
- Further information: youronlinechoices.eu (EU), How Google uses information in advertising.
Even if you opt out of personalized ads, you will still see ads; they will be less relevant. Non-personalized ads may still use the IP address and identifiers for frequency capping, measurement and fraud prevention.
7. Notifications and push messages
With your permission the App shows: low-storage alerts, reminders to check the phone, the results of automatic cleaning and of the background check you turned on, and the optional quick-tools panel in the notification shade. You can turn each of them off in the App's settings or in Android settings.
Push messages are sent through Firebase Cloud Messaging only to topics: all users, and groups by time-zone offset and interface language (for example, “UTC−5, English”), so that messages arrive at a reasonable local time. We do not store or use individual push tokens. Some messages are silent and only let the App refresh its data and the panel; the App itself decides whether to show anything, respecting quiet hours and limits.
8. Device permissions
All access to your data is optional and explained in the App before Android asks for it. You can revoke any permission in Android settings at any time; the related tool will then show an explanation instead.
| Permission | Used for |
|---|---|
READ_MEDIA_IMAGES, READ_MEDIA_VIDEO, READ_MEDIA_VISUAL_USER_SELECTED; READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 12 and earlier) | Duplicate and similar photos, screenshots, large videos |
READ_MEDIA_AUDIO | Large audio files |
MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (“All files access”); WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 10 and earlier) | Deep cleaning of temporary files, logs, APKs and empty folders outside the media library; documents in “Large files”; moving files to the trash without extra dialogs |
PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS (“Usage access”, granted in Android settings) | App sizes, cache size and last-used dates; unused apps; the app cache guide; precise storage breakdown |
Visibility of apps with a launcher icon (<queries>; the App does not use QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES) | App manager and App access check |
REQUEST_DELETE_PACKAGES | Opening the standard Android uninstall dialog for apps you choose |
POST_NOTIFICATIONS | Notifications listed in section 7 |
FOREGROUND_SERVICE, FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE | The quick-tools panel in the notification shade, only if you turn it on |
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED, WAKE_LOCK | Restoring the panel and scheduled checks after a restart; completing background tasks |
INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE | Ads, analytics, crash reports, remote configuration, push messages |
com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID | Reading the advertising ID for advertising, attribution and analytics (see sections 4 and 6) |
9. Retention
- On your device: settings, statistics and the image fingerprint cache are kept until you clear the App's data or uninstall it. Items in the trash are deleted automatically after 30 days.
- Third-party services keep data for the periods stated in their policies (section 4). For example, Firebase Crashlytics keeps crash reports for 90 days.
- Support e-mails are kept for as long as needed to answer you and then for up to {{SUPPORT_RETENTION}}, unless a longer period is required by law.
10. International transfers
Our providers process data in the United States, the European Union and other countries, including countries whose data-protection laws may differ from those of your country. AppMetrica data may be processed in {{APPMETRICA_REGION}}. Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework where the provider participates in it. You can ask us for more information about these safeguards.
11. Security
All SDKs transmit data over encrypted (TLS) connections. Data stored by the App is kept in its private, sandboxed storage on your device. The App does not ask for an account or password and does not run its own servers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect the information we handle.
12. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access your personal data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw consent. In the EEA and the UK you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
How to make a request, including deletion
Because the App has no accounts, we can only find data linked to identifiers of your device. Send a request to {{SUPPORT_EMAIL}} with the subject “Privacy request” and, if possible, include your advertising ID (Android settings → Google → Ads, or Privacy → Ads). We will ask the relevant providers (AppMetrica, Tenjin, AppLovin, Firebase) to delete or export the data linked to it and will reply within 30 days (or the period required by applicable law). We may need to ask for additional information to verify that the request comes from the device owner.
Things you can do right away
- Change your consent: Settings → Ads & privacy → Privacy choices (EEA, UK, Switzerland).
- Reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings — this breaks the link between future and past ad data.
- Turn off notifications in the App or in Android settings.
- Revoke permissions in Android settings → Apps → Linvy → Permissions.
- Uninstall the App: it stops all collection and removes the App's data from your device (see section 2 about the trash folder on Android 8–10).
13. U.S. state privacy rights
This section applies to residents of California and other U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws. In the last 12 months the App has collected the following categories of personal information: identifiers (advertising ID and other device identifiers, IP address); internet or other electronic network activity (interactions with the App and with ads); approximate geolocation derived from the IP address; and device information and diagnostics. The sources, purposes and recipients are described in sections 3–6. We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by these laws.
We do not sell personal information for money. However, allowing advertising partners to collect identifiers to show interest-based ads may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising, or “targeted advertising”. To opt out, delete or reset your advertising ID or turn off ad personalization in Android settings, and/or e-mail us at {{SUPPORT_EMAIL}} with the subject “Do not sell or share”. We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of consumers under 16.
You also have the right to know, access, correct and delete your personal information, to appeal our decision, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. You may use an authorized agent. Submit requests as described in section 12.
14. Children
The App is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under the age of digital consent in your country, such as 16 in parts of the EEA). If you believe that a child has used the App and data was collected, contact us and we will delete it.
15. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy when the App or the law changes. The new version will be published on this page with a new “Last updated” date. If the changes are significant, we will also tell you in the App or in the Google Play listing. Continuing to use the App after the update means that you accept it.
